Holly was the WPVA Rookie of the Year in 1991, though she had actually competed in a few events in the 1987-89 seasons (according to Volleyball Worldwide. In 1993 and 1994 she played on the AVP Women's tour. In 1995 McPeak was named WPVA MVP; she and Nancy Reno had 8 wins on the WPVA tour, but the partnership was on-and-off, as Reno has also paired with Karolyn Kirby for some matches. McPeak competed for much of 1996 season with her friend Lisa Arce, and was named WPVA Most Valuable Player for the second year in a row. She and Nancy Reno were the top qualifying team from the USA for the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, but finished a disappointing 5th.
McPeak and Arce started the 1997 season at an FIVB match in Rio de Janeiro, taking second place. They lost to the Brazilian duo of Monica/Adriana-Samuel, though they beat the the Olympic champion team of Silva and Pires in the semi-final. In the first WPVA event of the year, Arce and McPeak won at the Miami Open.
In 1999, McPeak and Reno re-teamed briefly, and won the FIVB event in Toronto, but then split again. Holly played with Gabrielle Reece for several events. At the end of 1999 and beginning of 2000, she teamed with Misty May. Despite their late start, they qualified for the 2000 Olympics, edging out the team of Liz Masakayan and Elaine Youngs.
Holly started her college career at UC-Berkeley, but played her fourth year (1990) at UCLA (NCAA Champions). She later served as an assistant coach at UCLA. She was born in Hollywood, CA, and stands 5'7".
