Annett (Buckner) Davis and her partner Jenny Johnson Jordan took the
two-women beach volleyball scene by storm the first time they competed
in a WPVA event, coming through the qualifier to reach the finals (they
lost, placing second). They had previously competed against each other
on the four-woman tour. They were teammates at UCLA. In 2000,
they qualified as America's top women's beach volleyball team for the
Sydney Olympics; they finished tied for 5th.
